After a long winter, we are finally seeing some signs of spring here at Rock City Quilts/Lakeside Quilt Co. Along with the outside changes this time of year, we are excited to share the news of how Rock City Quilts will be growing, evolving and changing going forward.

As previously announced, I had made the decision to close the retail shop and hosted an aggressive sale, both in the shop and online. But, after almost 8 years of providing quality quilting fabrics to a loyal following of customers on line, it was my hope to ultimately share the website, existing inventory, which includes fabric, notions, books and patterns, and have someone go forward to provide the same quality merchandise and service that my customers were used to receiving. As I approached the end of my sale, I struck a deal with Donita Reeve, Lakeside Quilt Co. So, effective April 4, 2011, your orders will be processed through Lakeside Quilt Co and shipped from their shop in Kalispell, Montana.

Donita has been in the machine quilting business since 1998 and has always maintained an active website primarily offering a large variety of machine quilting supplies and accessories. As the Gammill dealer for Montana, Idaho and western Canada, they have dedicated most of their floor space to machine sales, no room for a walk-in, retail quilt shop. That experience in operating an online quilt-related business means a seamless transition in service for you, the Rock City customer.

The other, very exciting part of sharing with Lakeside Quilt Co. is that they are adding their existing quilt shop inventory to the Rock City site. So, if you have been to our site during the sale and think you ordered what you needed, go and take another look, as new items are being added every day.

Going forward, you will see many new items being added to the sale category as well as NEW fabrics. You can expect the new arrivals to be from top quality manufacturers. We will continue to offer you an online shopping experience that will reflect everyday quilter-friendly stash builder prices.
